​PAUL KAROS

Mr. Karos is a remarkable human being. He is as devout an Orthodox Christian as he is one of the great success stories on Wall Street; and he’s 99% blind. Mr. Karos holds a degree in finance from the University of Minnesota. He worked as an airline analyst for fifteen years (Piper Jaffray 1981- 1986; L.F. Rothschild 1986- 1988; and CS First Boston 1981- 1996), earning the honor of #1 airline analyst in the world from 1991 through 1996. In 1996, Mr. Karos returned to Piper Jaffray, where he served as President of Equities and Investment Banking until 2002, taking the firm from regional to national acclaim. Mr. Karos served Aplos Advisors (a hedge fund that he founded) for three years as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. He is currently the Senior Portfolio Manager at WhiteBox, a mutual fund headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Karos has consulted for foreign governments, for private institutions, and he has dedicated his life to ministering to the Orthodox Church.Mr. Karos is thrilled to be joining us this summer, so much that he will be addressing our group on both Friday, August 15th, and Saturday the 16th. He will be presenting on the topic areas of life building and vocation.
